Renting Samsung Appliances in Korea: What to Know First
Samsung is one of the two largest brands in our rental catalogue, and its line-up leans in a different direction from LG's. This guide covers what is actually available, the contract length you should expect, the price spread, and one thing the monthly fee does not include. Figures are counted from our own catalogue as of November 2026 and shift as stock changes.
This is about renting Samsung products through Korean rental companies. It is not a product review and does not describe Samsung's warranty terms — ask the manufacturer or the rental company about those.
What the Samsung rental catalogue covers
Our catalogue lists 340 Samsung items, weighted toward home living rather than kitchen:
- Home living (134 items) — air conditioners (29), TVs (25), vacuums (11), washers (20), dryers (17), clothing-care cabinets (15). This is the largest group.
- Kitchen (100) — dishwashers (27), fridges (27), microwaves and ovens (3), kimchi fridges (15).
- Bundles (60) — several products under one agreement.
- Hobby and mobility (39), commercial & B2B (4), air & water (3).
If your apartment came empty and summer is coming, the living group is where to look — air conditioners alone account for 29 items.
The price range has a long tail — read the median
Monthly fees across Samsung items run from ₩8,700 to ₩302,200, with a median of about ₩44,800. The top of that range is large premium equipment, not something a resident would put in a one-room apartment, so the range is close to useless as a planning number.
Use the median as your anchor and price the specific items you need. A realistic first-home setup is a few items in the ₩10,000–₩60,000 band each, not one item at the top of the range.
295 of the 340 Samsung items carry a partner-card discount price — about nine in ten. That discount depends on meeting a monthly card-spending condition; if you cannot meet it, the standard fee applies, so compare standard fees when deciding. Our card discount guide explains how the condition works.
Almost everything is a 60-month contract
Samsung's rental terms are more uniform than LG's. In our catalogue:
- 60 months — 331 items
- 59 months — 1 item
That means 97% of Samsung items are five-year agreements, and shorter terms are the exception. If your visa, lease or job contract is shorter than five years, bring it up in the consultation before applying — what happens if you leave Korea mid-contract depends on the specific rental company's terms, and we will not guess them for you.
Rental companies also commonly ask about remaining period of stay when a foreign resident applies. That is a normal part of the review, not a rejection.
Where Samsung tends to make sense
Based on what is actually in the catalogue rather than brand preference:
- Air conditioning — 29 items. Relevant because most Korean rentals do not include one and buying plus installation is a large upfront cost.
- Dishwashers — 27 items, more than most brands offer in rental, and more than we list for any other brand. Worth knowing if your kitchen has no space plumbed for one; installation is arranged as part of delivery.
- Clothing-care cabinets — 15 items. A Korean-market appliance most new arrivals have never used and many end up wanting.
The fee covers the appliance, not a cleaning service
This is worth stating plainly because it differs from the water-purifier rentals people hear about first. None of the 340 Samsung items in our catalogue lists a scheduled maintenance or cleaning visit. What they list is a free-repair period: most commonly one year, and for 68 items five years while the contract is kept in good standing.
So a Samsung rental is closer to "pay monthly instead of upfront, with repairs covered for a period" than to a managed service. Delivery and installation are still arranged as part of the rental.
If a regular cleaning visit is what you actually want, that lives with water purifiers, bidets and air purifiers from the specialist brands — ask in the consultation and we will steer you there instead.

How to apply
SETKORA is a rental broker (통신판매중개자). The rental agreement is made directly with the manufacturer or rental company; we compare available options, handle the Korean-language paperwork, and arrange delivery and installation. Applications are available in 15 languages and the consultation is free.
- List the items you need, not the ones with the lowest headline fee.
- Decide whether the partner-card condition is realistic for you.
- Check the contract term against your planned stay.
- Apply — we confirm the final terms with the rental company before anything is signed.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the Samsung price range so wide?
The maximum in our catalogue is around ₩302,200 per month, which reflects a five-unit system air-conditioner set rather than a typical apartment purchase. The median of roughly ₩44,800 is a far more useful planning figure for a home.
Can I get a Samsung rental on a shorter contract than 60 months?
Shorter terms exist but are rare. It is worth asking, but plan on five years being the norm. If a shorter commitment matters to you, say so in the consultation and we will check what is actually available rather than assume.
Can foreigners rent Samsung appliances in Korea?
Only some rental companies accept applications from foreigners. Products that accept them carry an 'Open to foreign applicants' label on the product page; products without that label are currently difficult for foreigners to apply for. Approval is decided by the rental company and confirmed during consultation. Korean nationals can apply for every product. Our eligibility guide covers what is usually asked, and final terms are confirmed in the consultation.
Does a Samsung rental include maintenance visits?
No. None of the 340 Samsung items in our catalogue lists a scheduled visit or cleaning cycle. What is listed is a free-repair period — usually one year, and five years on 68 items while the contract is kept in good standing. Delivery and installation are arranged as part of the rental. If you want a managed cleaning service, that belongs to water purifiers and similar products from specialist brands.
Is Samsung or LG better for renting?
They cover different ground rather than one being better. In our catalogue Samsung is clearly stronger in home living — 134 items against LG's 112, including 29 air conditioners — while LG has more kitchen items (131 vs 100) and more bundle products (86 vs 60). LG also lists a visit or filter cycle on 67 items where Samsung lists none. Decide by the specific items you need.
SETKORA is a rental brokerage (통신판매중개자), not the contracting party. Prices assume a contract term and, where noted, card-spending conditions; final terms are confirmed during consultation.
